At the beginning of every semester, the student body organizes an orientation unit (OU) for new master students.

The most important goals of the OU are:

  • meet your peers – without friends, studying is hard!
  • get to know the unis facilities – so that you can find your way around!
  • take away the panic – we are all just humans!
  • answering your questions – so that you are well-prepared!
  • have fun – of course!

During OU you will meet peers of higher semesters who will tell you anything you need to know. We will show you the campus, and you will have plenty of time to get to know your peers.

Welcome to the University of Bonn!

We are happy to welcome you at the University of Bonn and hope that you arrived safely.
You probably still have a lot of unanswered questions. Maybe even some, which you didn’t know you had. For example: What does ”c.t.” mean? How do I register for a class? How do the exercises and the practice sheets work?
As the student body, we want to help answer all these kinds of questions. We invite you to our orientation day on

Later on, at around 8pm, we’ll be exploring the “Altstadt,” which is the lively pub scene in Bonn. We’ll be meeting at the same location as the orientation event earlier, and if you happen to come a little later, don’t worry! We’ll share a phone number that you can contact to find out where we are.

If you are not able to attend this orientation, that is not a problem. The important information is also covered in the Master inform (https://www.fachschaft.info/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/master-inform_1.pdf). The date is old, but all relevant information is still up-to-date.

You can also always visit us on any other weekday in the Computer Science building (Friedrich-Hirzebruch-Allees 8) in room 0.019 (student body office), which is located in the foyer.

As an added bonus, we will hold a board game evening on the 13th of April starting from 18 o’clock! We hope to see you there!
