Ally Day on November 27th, 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Have you ever asked yourself what problems other students are facing, and how you can empathize with them? Have you ever wondered how you can be a good ally to fellow students of underrepresented groups and enhance a study environment with inclusivity and respect? We, a group of students who have asked themselves these questions, have organized an event for you! At our Ally Day, which takes place on Saturday, 27th of November at 3-6 pm online, we offer everyone, regardless of gender, race or age a chance to meditate and opnely discuss on the topic of diversity and allyship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ally Day is planned as follows: After a round of speedfriending, we will listen to a presentation held by our special guest Dr. Cassandra Ellerbe on the topic “Diversity and Inclusion at the University”, and discuss our opinions and experiences with her. Then, we have “Tea Timewith People in Mathematics”, which was inspired by the popular series of events “Tea Time with Women in Mathematics”. We have invited some faculty members of our department who are eager to share their experiences in academia in informal rounds of discussions. Feel free to ask them about diversity in academia, their careers, mathematics, anything!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eORANGE TEA TIME: Against gender-based Disadvantage in STEM\u201c on Dezember 4th, 2021<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the 4th of December 2021, from 3.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., we invite all female math and computer science students to an afternoon with an interesting talk and exchanges on the topic \u201eAgainst gender-basedDisadvantage in STEM\u201c at our popular Tea Time. This online event will take place in English. All female, intersexual, non-binary, transgender, and agender persons are invited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our keynote speaker, Dr. Amma Yeboah, will explain to you in her introductory talk which problems and obstacles women can encounter in their studies and their careers in STEM and how you can recognize and effectively overcome these obstacles to tap the full potential of your career. Dr. Yeboah studied medicine at the Charit\u00e9 and completed specialist training as a psychiatrist. She is an expert on gender-specific discrimination in the workplace and has many years of experience as a speaker and as a coach for career advancement for women. After the talk you will have the opportunity to discuss the topic andexchange ideas with Dr. Yeboah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As always, you will also have the opportunity to connect and discusswith other women in STEM over a cup of tea. We look forward to anexciting talk, stimulating discussions with you, and new women networks!

Fragt ihr euch, wie ihr f\u00fcr Kommiliton*innen aus unterrepr\u00e4sentierten Gruppen Verb\u00fcndete sein k\u00f6nnt und ein Studienumfeld von Inklusivit\u00e4t und Respekt schaffen k\u00f6nnt? Wir, eine Gruppe von Studierenden, die sich genau diese Fragen gestellt haben, haben eine Veranstaltung f\u00fcr euch organisiert! An unserem Ally Day, der am Samstag, dem 27. November von 15-18 Uhr online stattfinden wird, bieten wir allen, unabh\u00e4ngig von Geschlecht, Herkunft und Alter eine Chance, sich mit dem Thema Diversit\u00e4t und Allyship zu befassen, und an einem offenen Diskurs teilzunehmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am 04.12.2021 von 15:00 bis 17:30 Uhr laden wir alle Mathematik- und Informatikstudentinnen zu einem Nachmittag mit einem interessanten Vortrag und Austausch zum Thema \u201eGegen geschlechtsspezifische Benachteiligung im MINT-Studium\u201c bei unserer beliebten Online Tea Time ein. Dieses Treffen wird vorrangig auf Englisch stattfinden. Es sind alle Personen eingeladen, die weiblich, intersexuell, nicht-bin\u00e4r, transgender oder agender sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unsere Sprecherin, Frau Dr. Amma Yeboah, wird euch in einem wissenswerten Impulsvortrag erkl\u00e4ren, auf welche Probleme und Hindernisse Frauen in ihrem Studium und in ihrer Karriere in MINT-F\u00e4chern treffen k\u00f6nnen und wie ihr diese Hindernisse erkennen und wirkungsvoll \u00fcberwinden k\u00f6nnt, um das Potential eurer Karriere voll auszusch\u00f6pfen. Frau Dr. Yeboah hat Humanmedizin an der Charit\u00e9 studiert und eine fach\u00e4rztliche Weiterbildung zur Psychiaterin absolviert. Sie ist Expertin f\u00fcr geschlechtsspezifische Benachteiligung am Arbeitsplatz und verf\u00fcgt \u00fcber langj\u00e4hrige Erfahrung als Rednerin und als Coach zur Karrieref\u00f6rderung von Frauen. Sie steht nach dem kurzen Impuls f\u00fcr weiterf\u00fchrende Diskussionen und einen offenen Austausch zur Verf\u00fcgung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
