As the student body council, we want to help answer all these kinds of questions.

At the beginning of every semester, the student body council organizes an orientation unit (OU) for new master students.

The most important goals of the OU are:

• Meet your peers – without friends, studying is hard!
• Get to know the unis facilities – so that you can find your way around!
• Take away the panic – we are all just humans!
• Answering your questions – so that you are well-prepared!
• Have fun – of course!
• During OU you will meet peers from higher semesters who will tell you anything you need to know. We will show you the campus, and you will have plenty of time to get to know your peers.
• We invite you to our orientation week, starting for the master students on

Im Rahmen der Karriere-Sprechstunde werden wöchentlich Beratungsgespräche zu den Themen Berufsorientierung und Einstieg in den Beruf angeboten.

• Fragen Sie sich, wie Sie im Studium Berufspraxis erwerben können?

2. Next Stop: Job – Studierende treffen Arbeitgeber der Region

Im WiSe 2023/2024 stellen sich wieder verschiedene Institutionen und Unternehmen der Region Studierenden im Rahmen der Veranstaltung „Next Stop: Job“ als Arbeitgeber vor.

Am 12.12.2023 laden die Wirtschaftsförderungen und Hochschulen der Region zu einer digitalen Next Stop: Job Veranstaltung mit Fokus auf die Branche IT und Telekommunikation ein.

Am 17.01.2024 möchten wir Ihnen die Branche Gesundheitswirtschaft näherbringen.

Wir haben zu jedem Termin jeweils drei renommierte Unternehmen aus Bonn, dem Rhein-Sieg-Kreis und dem Kreis Ahrweiler eingeladen, die Einblicke in ihre Organisationen, Kultur und Karrieremöglichkeiten bieten werden.

Later on, at around 8pm, we’ll be exploring the “Altstadt,” which is the lively pub scene in Bonn. We’ll be meeting at the same location as the orientation event earlier, and if you happen to come a little later, don’t worry! As the student body we want to help answer all these kinds of questions. Even though our lectures don’t directly start at the 1st of April, it is still helpful to be here a bit earlier! We invite you to our orientation day on

If you are not able to attend this orientation, that is not a problem. We will be live-streaming the information part of the event, so you don’t miss anything. You can also always visit us on any other weekday in the Computer Science building (Friedrich-Hirzebruch-Allees 8) in room 0.019 (student body office), which is located in the foyer.

Considering the pandemic, we will only allow access to the orientation for people who are fully vaccinated, who are recovered from COVID-19 or have an official negative test (3G). We will also enforce the mandatory use of face masks in the building. So please bring the corresponding certificate, a photo ID and a FFP2 mask or a medical mask along.

During the orientation we will present you with the most important information, so that you can easily conquer the first few weeks of the semester. Furthermore you will have the possibility to meet new people and make new acquaintances during the orientation. This is essential for your studies!

As an added bonus, we will hold a board game evening on the 7th of April starting from 18 o’clock! We hope to see you there!

We, the student body, are hosting a get-together tomorrow, april 10th at 2pm (CEST) where you can get to know your peers and ask us any questions you might have concerning your program, the University of Bonn or life in Germany in general.
