Bei diesem reflektieren wir über die aktuellen Veranstaltungsformate der Fachschaft, sprechen über neue Eventideen, und finalisieren die Planung für das Semester.

Wir suchen wie immer noch Orga-interessierte Personen für einige kommende Veranstaltungen, aber du kannst an dem Treffen genauso gut teilnehmen, wenn du einfach nur in die Arbeit des Eventmanagements reinschnuppern möchtest / Meinungen beitragen möchtest. <3

we would like to cordially invite you to our Game Night taking place right after the Master Orientation Unit (for CS and CySec freshmen) on Tuesday October 7th, 2025!
The Game night will begin at 18:00 (6 p.m.) in the Foyer of the Institute of Computer Science, Friedrich-Hirzebruch-Allee 8 and will be held in English.

Whether you’re just starting out here in Bonn or have already been studying for a few semesters, we hope to provide a space for you to socialize, relax, and form connections that will help you throughout your student life!

There will be board games available in the Foyer (warning: many only have german instructions), as well as Karaoke in room 0.016, and additional space for games like Werewolf in room 0.011 of the Institute of Computer Science.
Feel free to stop by at any time, grab a drink from the Student Body office (right next to the foyer) and get to know your fellow students
You may also bring your friends or your own board games if you’d like.

Please note that the Game Night does not provide food, except for some cookies you can buy at the Student Body office.
That means if you’d like to eat dinner during the event, please remember to take care of your own food so you don’t starve on us
(Note: establishments near Campus tend to close around 19:00.)

If you have any questions about the game night, feel free to reach out to us!
During the game night, student body members will also be present whom you can talk to if anything comes up.

We are happy to invite you to our Game Jam on 15th to 19th September!

During a Game Jam, its participants get together in teams to develop a video game in a short amount of time – just 4 days in this case.
The games should fit a theme which will be announced at the start of the event.
The main focus here is having fun developing a game and you don’t need any prior experience at all to meaningfully participate!
By the way: Non-computer science students are also very welcome!

In total, the Jam will last 4 days (96 hours to be precise), but don’t feel discouraged if you can only participate for some part of the Jam, you can still participate.

Further information and communication during the GameJam will be handled using a Discord server, to which you will be invited after registering.

The GameJam will take place in the rotation-building in Poppelsdorf.

You may present your games on 19.19.2025 also at 4 pm (the location will be announced later).

September 8 – September 12, 2025: Python Advanced Course (English)

# Python ‘Vertiefungskurs’
(We’re still not sure what a good translation of “Vertiefungskurs” is. See it as a voluntary offering aiming to cover topics that are not covered in ‘normal’ lectures.)

When: 08.09. – 12.09.2025
Schedule: daily lecture 11 AM – 1 PM and exercise session 2 PM – 4 PM
Where: (unfortunately a bit more complicated, see below)

The course covers advanced Python topics (see below).

Each day is relatively self-contained (so you can also just attend on specific days).
The course is paced for anyone with a basic understanding of object-oriented programming, e.g. in Python, Java, or C++.

The lecture and materials are in English. The course is only offered in person (no live streams).

– Day 1.: Quick introduction to Python basics and more advanced syntax
– Day 2.: FastAPI, Requests, Pydantic, Packaging
– Day 3.: Python’s Science Stack (numpy, matplotlib, pandas) + AsyncIO
– Day 4.: Multithreading, Multiprocessing, Iter- and Functools
– Day 5.: LLM Agents, Rich

## Where
Lecture (daily 11 AM to 1 PM):
Lecture hall A of the ‘Anatomie’ (Nussallee 10).
Except for Thursday, there the lecture will take place in the lecture hall of the HISKP (Nussallee 14).

# What exactly are these Vertiefungskurse?!
‘Vertiefungskurse’ are a free offering organized for you by the Computer Science Student Body Coucil.
The courses are intended for all computer science and cyber security students, as well as interested students from other programs.

The aim of the courses is to provide an insight into computer science topics that are not covered in this form during the usual study program.
These courses are not mandatory in any way, you will also not receive any credits for attending.

Our Vertiefungskurse are designed and taught by students for students.

Folgendes Sagen die Alumni über sich selber:

Fabian ist Threat Intelligence Analyst bei der Deutschen Telekom Security mit Schwerpunkt Cybercrime. Er verfügt über langjährige Erfahrung in der Verfolgung von Bedrohungsakteuren, Malware-Analyse, Threat Hunting und ähnlichen Aktivitäten. Er war Speaker auf mehreren internationalen Cybersecurity-Konferenzen und verfügt durch seine frühere Tätigkeit als Forscher an der Universität Bonn über fundierte Kenntnisse in Computernetzwerken und IT-Sicherheitsforschung. Er tauscht sich gerne mit anderen Analysten aus und erweitert sein Netzwerk kontinuierlich, um besser auf Cyberbedrohungen reagieren zu können.

Bernd ist Product Owner bei der Qvest Digital und seit über 7 Jahren als
solcher tätig. Dort begleitet er Kunden aus verschiedenen Bereichen wie
Chemie, Telekommunikation, Leasing und weiteren. Er begleitet Teams um
sie bei der Entwicklung von kundenspezifischer Software zu unterstützen.
Darüberhinaus begleitet er Kunden bei der Einführung Agiler Prinzipien
und vorgehensweisen.

Dr. Bernd Brüggemann schloss 2006 sein Diplom in Informatik an der Universität Bonn ab.
Anschließend arbeitete er als Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am
Fraunhofer FKIE im Bereich der unbemannten Landfahrzeuge. 2014
promovierte er im Bereich der Mehrrobotersysteme und übernahm 2015 eine
Forschungsgruppe am FKIE. Sein Fokus lag weiterhin auf dem Einsatz
unbemannter Systeme in der Bundeswehr. Nach einem kurzen Abstecher in
die Automobilindustrie kehrte er zum Fraunhofer FKIE zurück. Derzeit ist
er in der Institutsleitung tätig und unterstützt das gesamte Institut
bei der Gestaltung systemischer Projekte sowie bei der Überführung
wissenschaftlicher Ergebnisse in Produkte und Dienstleistungen.

Das Fraunhofer FKIE entwickelt Technologien und Prozesse mit dem Ziel,
existenzbedrohende Risiken frühzeitig zu erkennen, zu minimieren und
beherrschbar zu machen. Als Forschungsinstitut für Verteidigung und
Sicherheit widmet es sich der gesamten Verarbeitungskette von Daten und
Informationen: vom Gewinn, der Übertragung und Verarbeitung bis hin zu
ihrem zuverlässigen Schutz.

We are very pleased to invite you to the upcoming Game Jam from April 1-3!

The Game Jam is about developing games or prototypes of games alone or in teams within 2 days.
At the beginning, a theme will be announced, on which the games you create should be based.

We welcome aspirinig developers of all skill levels, whether you are already experienced Game Jam veterans or whether you want to put your newly acquired skills from the Game Development workshop to the test for the first time.
The focus is on the fun, which you can have with all levels of experience!
The Game Jam starts on Tuesdays (01.04.) at 14:00 with a short organizational talk, in which the topic of the jam will be announced. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to
form teams and directly get started on developing your game.

You have a total of 48 hours to develop your game, during which you can also continue working in the institute overnight. To help you stay awake, we offer you snacks as well as Fritz-Cola, Club Mate and other drinks in our drinks shop.
At the end of the 48 hours, the final presentation will take place on Thursday (03.04.), where each team will have the opportunity to present their work of the last two days.
