There has been an update in how the change of examination regulations will be carried out. Again, if you study under the M. Sc. Computer Science or M. Sc. Life Science Informatics program, this doesn’t concern you. This is just FYI.

Survey about Cafeteria Usage

The Liste Poppelsdorf (fraction of the student parliament) is currently trying to achieve that the cafeterias also offer food in the afternoon. To have a good basis for negotiation, they are conducting a survey.

The survey contains 11 questions and takes ca. 1-2 min. It will be open until the end of April. To get a good picture of the potential interest in afternoon offers, you should all participate. It doesn’t matter whether you eat at the cafeteria a lot or whether you want afternoon offers, every opinion is valuable.

Registration for the Master Program until 20.05.2022

The Deadline for registering for the master program has been set to the 20.05.2022. You will need to hand in all required materials until then in order to be able to register for exams. You can find what you need to hand in when and where on the Institute’s website.

Registration for the bachelor programs ends on 06.05.2022. If you enrolled this semester, you can find further info on what to do here.

Info-Veranstaltung zum geplanten Cyber Security Masterstudiengang

Liebe Cyber Security Studierende,

tl;dr: wer von Ihnen vor hatte ab WS22/23 oder SS23 im Master Cyber

Security zu studieren, kommt bitte unbedingt zu der unten genannten

hybrid-durchgeführten Info-Veranstaltung oder – im Fall der Verhinderung

– meldet mir per EMail, dass er/sie dies vor hatte.

Die ursprünglich für das Wintersemester 2022/23 geplante Einführung

eines Master-Studiengangs Cyber Security verzögert sich und ist jetzt

für das Wintersemester 2023/24 geplant. Sofern Sie vor hatten ab WS22/23

oder SS23 im Master Cyber Security zu studieren beeinträchtigt dies

möglicherweise Ihre Studienpläne.

Institut und Fachschaft gemeinsam wollen Sie beraten und Möglichkeiten

erörtern, wie Sie Ihre Studienziele dennoch erreichen können.

Finally, Clean Whiteboards!

We bought whiteboard sponges, cleaning spray and good markers so that you can properly use the whiteboards in our working spaces and seminar rooms again.

Every working room with a whiteboard should now have a sponge and a bottle of cleaning spray that are labeled with that room. Should the bottle be empty, you can refill it with plain water (which is better for the board’s coating anyway).
There is now also a (chained up) black marker next to every board, so you can quickly write something even if you don’t have a marker handy.

At our office we have more markers in black, red, green and blue that you can borrow, as before.

More Working Space

We talked to the Institute and now the seminar rooms U1.027, U1.028 and U1.029 should always be open.

You can find the schedules for these rooms posted on the doors so you know, when they are free to use.

Should the doors be locked, you can come to our office and we can open them for you.

University Sport Program - Registration Phase is starting soon

Starting March 30th at 9am, you can register for courses of the University Sport Program for the summer semester 2022. You can find a preview of the program here. If you want to get a spot, better hurry! The popular courses fill up quickly.
