Orientierungseinheit (Erstiwoche)

Diesen Termin solltest du auf keinen Fall verpassen. Bei der OE wird euch von mehr oder weniger „alten Hasen“ in kleinen Gruppen alles Wichtige erklärt. Wir führen euch durch die Uni und zeigen euch die wichtigsten Orte und Räume. Nebenbei gibts natürlich auch die ein oder andere Party, denn so lernt man sich am besten kennen!

Die wichtigsten Ziele der OE sind:

• Andere Studis kennenlernen – denn ohne Freunde kommt man nicht weit im Studium!
• Gebäude und Einrichtungen der Uni anschauen – damit ihr euch direkt gut auskennt!
• Panik vor dem Studium nehmen – wir sind ja alle nur Menschen! (hoffentlich)
• Eure Fragen beantworten – damit ihr auf alles gut vorbereitet seid!
• Spaß haben – na klar!

Bei der Einschreibung stehen wir vor dem Studentensekretariat und drücken dir eine Einladung zur Orientierungseinheit in die Hand.

Das Ganze startet an dem Montag bereits um 10 Uhr im Hörsaal 2 des Hörsaalzentrums (Endenicher Allee 19c) – dort, wo die meisten eurer zukünftigen Module gelehrt werden (Karte). Der erste Tag geht in etwa bis 18 Uhr, aber keine Sorge, für mittags haben wir ein leckeres Buffet geplant. Alles weitere erfahrt ihr dann auf den Flyern die ihr am Tag der Einschreibung vor dem Studentensekretariat erhaltet und vor Ort.

Nur eines ist sicher: Euch erwartet eine schöne Woche mit täglichen Aktivitäten und viel Spaß mit euren zukünftigen Kommilitoninnen und Kommilitonen!

Vorkurse

Die Informatik bietet als Vorbereitung aufs Studium zwei Vorkurse an. Der erste ist ein Programmiervorkurs, der zweite ein Mathematikvorkurs. Der Besuch der Vorkurse ist keine Voraussetzung für das Studium, aber sehr sinnvoll. Macht das, falls ihr es einrichten könnt!

Die Vorkurse finden in Hörsaal 1 und 2 des Hörsaalzentrums (Endenicher Allee 19c) statt – dort werdet ihr auch einen Großteil des Informatikstudiums verbringen. Falls ihr für den September noch ein Ticket für Bus und Bahn benötigt (euer Semesterticket gilt erst ab Oktober), schaut mal hier.

• Vorkurs Informatik Schwerpunkt C (3.10. – 13.10.)
• Vorkurs formale Methoden der Informatik (17.-28.10.)

Einschreibung

Das Informatikstudium in Bonn ist zulassungsfrei, das heißt ihr könnt euch mit Hochschulzugangsberechtigung direkt einschreiben.

Die Einschreibung für Informatik ist vom 24. bis 28. September 2018 im Studentensekretariat. Detaillierte Informationen zur Einschreibung findet ihr hier.

Good things come to those who wait

Until now our department was divided onto multiple buildings: The AVZ III in the Römerstraße and the LBH in the Friedrich-Ebert-Allee. Soon they will both move to the same site as well as the b-it, which also changes location to Poppelsdorf. This means shorter ways and less racing through the whole town to catch the next lecture for everybody! For the student body this also means finally getting closer to the students of our Master programmes. It will be easier to get in contact with each other.

Great! When do we start?

The move will start on 19.2.2018 and last until 26.2.2018. The different departments will move on different dates, starting with the b-it on 19.2.2018, the LBH on 22.02.2018. and finally the AVZ III on 26.2.2018. The day before the corresponding move starts the networks will be taken offline, so keep that in mind if you need something for exams, labs or your thesis. We hope that this schedule will remain consistent, but as always there might be nasty suprises that lead to longer downtimes than expected.

Lockers

We were able to get a few lockers in the foyer of the new building which means that we can happily assure you this service after the relocation. If you currently rent a locker, please return it until 02.02.2018! This is generally possible during our opening hours. At this point, we cannot yet tell when the new lockers will be available but will inform you as soon as we know more.

Learn rooms

This was a topic that needed a lot of discussions during the long phase of planning the move. We are currently very spoiled: Four rooms are available for you to learn or chill (one at LBH, two at AVZ III and one at b-it) as well as our office and a common room. Sadly the situation will change in Poppelsdorf, but we still have two learning rooms in the Computer Science part of the new building as well as one in the b-it part which can be used by you. There were also plans for study desks in the foyer, but those are currently under revision and might not happen. One of the computer pools will also be designed as a bring-your-own-device room which can be used to work.

Student body office

Our office will be located on the ground floor of the new building. If you enter the foyer from the main entrance, it is straight forward and then in the right corner – you should recognize it immediately! We are already exited to move there and hope to see you soon.

Und der Aufwand wird ab sofort auch belohnt. Jeder, der ein (selbst angefertigtes) Prüfungsprotokoll einreicht, bekommt ein Freigetränk bei uns in der Fachschaft spendiert. Außerdem werden unter den drei besten Prüfungsprotokollen von nun an jedes Semester Sachpreise in Höhe von insgesamt 45 € vergeben! Eure Protokolle könnt ihr direkt in der Fachschaft abgeben oder an protokolle@fachschaft.info mailen.

wie wir schon auf unseren Social-Media-Kanälen bekannt gemacht haben, ist ein Einzug zum Wintersemester in die Ersatzbauten in Poppelsdorf leider nicht möglich. Es war zwar schon länger bekannt, letzte Woche haben wir aber nun ein ordentliches Schreiben des Kanzlers und des Rektors bekommen. Grund für die weitere Verzögerung sei, dass „wichtige technische Anlagen wie Kältemaschinen und ‘Notkälte’, Laborlüftungsanlagen und Wärmepumpen versagten bzw. sich Restmängel als gravierender heraustellten“. Nicht betroffen von den Verzögerungen ist das Hörsaalzentrum direkt neben dem Ersatzbau. Das ist fertig und wäre auch – zumindest theoretisch – für uns schon nutzbar. Der nächste Umzugstermin ist für das Sommersemester 2018 geplant.

Soweit der Stand. Ob das Hörsaalzentrum bereits dieses Jahr von uns genutzt wird, ist zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt eher fraglich (damit wäre dann ein dritter Standort für die Informatik geschaffen), aber noch nicht entschieden. Was uns bleibt, ist wohl das ganze mit Ironie tragen. #schroedingersneubau
